Born in Dominican Republic, I spent my childhood in the beautiful town of Duvergé. Heavily influenced by my artistic mother, Miriam Acosta, who was a full time seamstress and also a principal for a local elementary school. From this upbringing I learned from my mother to sew and cut fabrics. She immediately noticed, yet despondently, my gift for the art. I would sit for hours watching her work, as she prepared beautiful gowns for weddings and Quinceañeras. After graduation I left Dominican Republic at the age of 21, moved to Phoenix, AZ to Pursue "the american dream. Although I enjoyed the study of social science, I quickly immersed myself in my first love, fashion. In 2003 i began producing one-of-a-kind custom designs for my first clothing line, AGA Couture. I have been defined as "Elegant and Casual clothing for men and woman". Geared towards Resort Elegance with hispanic, gypsy influences, And usually a touch of Modern Victorian era style. The Haus of Alexander Acosta Now in NYC Creates Gowns for latin and standard Ballroom Competitions and Couture gowns for Private Clients. I consider my brand Cradle-to-Cradle Sustainable: I use Dead Stock Fabrics and create diferent textile in all of my designs.
